Catch-Up

Happy Monday POSHees. Forgive my late post today…we arrived back in town late last night after a whirlwind week in Colorado and weekend camping in Lake Chelan (the Mr. even popped over to Oklahoma City for a few days for work…) I’ve been busy trying to get the Powell Chateau back in order but fret not pets, I’m back on the grid tomorrow with a great line-up of posts for you…a fun summer checklist, my plans for the nursery and a few other yummy nibblies! See you tomorrow and here’s hoping your day has a cherry* on top!

*DEElicious cherries we picked up from Sunshine Farm Market in Chelan. Died and gone to heaven good, I’m telling’ ya.

Reason to Celebrate

Happy Thursday POSHees!

I wanted to pop in and say hello because today is particularly exciting…I hit 1,000 FABULOUS followers on Twitter and I’m just so tickled! Be sure you’re in on all the fun too if you’re not already. I sure wish I could pop some bubbly to celebrate but this mama will have to settle for sparkling water!

On top of that, lots of fun things happening in Colorado–late mornings in jim jams with coffee, good movies, and catching up with family! I head home tomorrow to unpack and repack at lightening speed as we’re headed to Lake Chelan for the weekend to go camping with friends. With camping on my mind I am surely thinking back to this… Are any of you planning any camping trips this summer?!

Colorful Colorado

Heya friends. Change of plans this week as KP and I hopped on a plane Friday for an impromptu trip to Colorado. He’ll continue on to his business trip today while I head up to spend some time with my family. Pups are in great hands with their Auntie Delaney–I’m sure getting lots of snuggles and treats. I’ll be checking in hopefully from time to time this week but  I wanted to let you know where I was in case you came looking for me. You can catch up with me more on Twitter and Facebook this week as I’ll likely be on the go or a tad busy to stick my nose in a laptop.

How are you all doing? Did you have a nice weekend? So far we’ve spent some quality time with Bubbie (our nephew) and Ken’s Grannie, eaten far too much ice cream and slept in. Not a shabby start to some time off.  Talk to you soon POSHees! Have a beautiful Monday!

Crafting Community In Pictures

Whew! What a whirlwind weekend we had in Palm Springs celebrating Crafting Community and as with some of the best times in life, it felt like it was over before I knew it. It was such an honor to work with Kimmel Kids and Kid Concierge. I was so incredibly touched seeing all the families come together to craft and connect. What a precious, precious weekend. Check out some of my favorite pics below and TONS more on my Facebook page.

POSH Pregnant: Babymoon

Hello POSHees! I wanted to drop in and let you know that this will be my view this week as the Mr. and I celebrate the sweet addition to our family with a BABYMOON in sunny Palm Springs. We’re both taking some time off to sleep in atop a big cozy bed, delight ourselves with blueberry pancakes, and float around in the pool while dreaming up names for Bebe Pow Pow. I’ll miss you all but this time is to be cherished and we are taking full advantage. Can’t wait to see you all again next week! In the meantime, stay POSH! XX

LA LA Land

You (and KP for that matter) know I mean business when I pull out the rolling rack. As I’ve said, it’s a great tool to help you prep for a trip. I’ve been pulling clothes out all week for LA and Palm Springs and hanging them up “for consideration”. It makes my packing SO much easier. For a glimpse inside the mind of a maniac type A packer, check out my LA must-haves. Palm Springs ones to come next week!

1. Tinted Moisturizer- I’ll be jetting to and fro so it’ll be key for my make up to be a one-stop shop situation.

2. Sunnies-I hear there is loads of sunshine in Cali so I’m coming prepared. Now…where did I put my sunglasses?…I haven’t used them since last July…

3. Maxi’s Galore-I’m all about chic with a dash of comfort. Chic is black and comfort is a Splendid racerback maxi.

4. iPad-For reading, watching movies and putering the day away.

5. Straw Fedora-See #2.

6. Fabulous Tote/Purse-To hold item #1, #2, #4, #7, #8.

7. Clif Bar-I’ll need some protein to get me through busy days of meetings and sitting in traffic.

8. Red Lips-I’m all about the ruby lipstick these days. Nothing feels more glam and LA is all about being glam.

9. Converse Kicks-Again with chic + comfort. ‘Nuf said.

10. GPS- I don’t know my way around Kirkland, let alone LA so you bet your booty I’m bringing my GPS for the rental car.

Packing Prep

I leave for LA next weekend and from there it’s off to Palm Springs for Crafting Community and a little R&R. I still have my bestie’s baby shower to host this weekend and next week is filling up quickly so I need to start thinking about what fabulous outfits will have the privilege of coming with me. We’re talking desert here people (when I was in elementary school my teacher taught us to remember the difference between desert and dessert by adding an extra ‘s’ for extra sugar in your dessert…just a little tip from me to you) so its crucial to keep it simple and bring things I can repurpose. You may remember this little number from a 5 Days 5 Ways post on the maxi. I’m thinking a uniform a little something like this should do it!

Soaking It In

Hello POSHees. I’m writing you from beneath a cozy blanket wearing lulu leggings, an oversize T and giant scarf on what is perhaps the most comfy couch on the planet. My mom’s Christmas tree is gleaming with white lights and gold brushed leaves and berries. Life is good.

We arrived to my mom’s just yesterday after spending a few days with the Mr.’s family. While there, we exchanged secret Santa gifts, indulged in a turkey dinner but most importantly, spent time snuggling my sweet baby nephew. Ian Michael was born December 23rd at 3:19 pm (a mere hour after KP and I pulled into the hospital). He was 9 lbs and 20 1/2 inches long. He is perfection and it was so hard to say goodbye knowing it will be months before we get to see him again.

Now we’re with my fam. Last night we celebrated a second and just as terrific family Christmas. Lots of gifts and laughs. What’s left on the agenda? Lots of yummy food, mimosas, Apples to Apples, hazing my sister’s new BF, a NYE bash at the grandparents and good ol’ fashioned family fun.

I’d love to stay longer and chat but these moments are precious and some things are just meant to be kept locked away safe in your heart. I know you know exactly what I mean. Here’s hoping that your Christmas was nothing short of magical and your New Year promises to be just as bright.

Merci Beaucoup

Short and sweet today lovies. By the time you read this, the Mr. and I will be in Colorful Colorado. Did you know when you drive across the state line, that’s what the sign says? Welcome to Colorful Colorado? This week I’m grateful for the open road and all it symbolizes. The long conversations where even after being together ten years, you learn something new about each other, salty snacks and ice cold Cokes, books on C.D. about topics you’re too embarrassed to admit you’re fascinated with, reuniting with family and laughing at jokes and stories that are years old, and if we’re lucky enough…witnessing brand new life coming into this world. Wishing you all a most beautiful and blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year. XX
